England Premier League
Saturday 2nd January 2021
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Selhurst Park
Match Preview:
After earning just 3 points from their past 15 the Christmas period has not been kind to Crystal Palace who have fallen to 15th place with 19 points.
The Eagles form has been nothing to write home about although their last result was a decent 1-1 draw against Leicester. They will fancy their chances at the weekend given that they are playing the bottom side but nothing is quite certain in the Premier League.
Palace are 8 points clear of the bottom three so that isn’t a concern right now but their position is. However victory could move Roy Hodgson’s side up 2-3 places.
Sheffield United are still waiting for their first victory. They will be hoping that a new year will signal a new them. The Blades 14th defeat of the season came at the hands of Burnley, a club who have struggled themselves in this campaign. The club come into this match having lost 4 of their last five games and are 11 points from safety and 17 behind their hosts.
Away from home Sheffield United have earned just 1 point from a possible 24 and have scored just four times. Their only point so far came against Brighton in a 1-1 draw.
Team News:
Crystal Palace: Gary Cahill remains a major doubt with his hamstring.
Sheffield United: John Lundstram is suspended after his red card last month. Olivier McBurnie is ruled out with a knock.

Crystal Palace vs Sheffield Utd Prediction:
Palace’s form has not been good and one wonders with the new year and being at home if this isn’t the opportunity for the club to get back to winning ways. Given that they are also facing the poorest side in the league this does look like a home win.
At the same time Sheffield United have been defending well despite losing games and they aren’t the type of club where you get numerous chances against. But they do keep losing and confidence has to be low. But this is the new year, fresh starts for both sides who may well end up sharing the points here.
Crystal Palace vs Sheffield Utd Betting Tips:
