Crystal Palace vs Man City: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 19th October 2019
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Selhurst Park

Match Preview:

Manchester City keep dropping points it, has been 8 already so far and that is the margin they find themselves behind Liverpool.

This early evening kick off rounds up Saturdays matches and all eyes will be on Pep Guardiola’s team who are under genuine pressure to get a win here. Forget having the better team, Palace know how to beat City, and there is a feeling that Guardiola may just be taking the Champions League more seriously this season.

City are still doing well of course just not to their standards and losing games against Norwich and Wolves is simply not good enough. City could slip to 3rd or even 4th with a defeat here. They have lost 2 games in their last four. Although away from home they have won 3 from 4 games and do have the 2nd best away record in the league.

Crystal Palace are 6th and have been superb this season. They are on a 3 game unbeaten run and have only lost 1 game in the past five weeks. Their last match ended in a 2-1 away win over West Ham and they were losing that game. At home the Eagles are unbeaten and have only conceded 1 goal. City have got a game on their hands it seems.

Team News:

Crystal Palace: Mamadou Sakho is 50/50 to appear after his muscle injury and Connor Wickham has some fitness issues and could miss this game

Manchester City: City will be hoping to welcome back Kevin De Bruyne from his groin injury. Benjamin Mendy is on the cards to return from his hamstring injury. John Stones is 50/50 with a muscle problem

Manchester City won this game last season 3-1.

Manchester City have won 4 of the last 5 games at Palace.

4 of the last 5 meetings has ended in over 4.5 goals.

Crystal Palace vs Man City Prediction:

Crystal Palace are being under valued here they are a very strong and resilaint team and City will have to be 100% to get something from this game. Palace defend well too and that is why we think they can get something from this game and will back them to have a 2 goal handicap at very good odds. We also think the first half will be a tight cagey affair and don’t expect goals until the 2nd half. City will have to commit a lot of men forward we have already seen how vulnerable they can be against physical teams who are not afraid of them, this could be another poor result for Pep and co.

Crystal Palace vs Man City Betting Tips:

Asian handicap (+2 Crystal Palace) at 1.70

Half with most goals: 2nd half at 2.10
