England Premier League
Saturday 19th December 2020
Kick off at 12:30pm GMT
Venue: Selhurst Park
Match Preview:
Crystal Palace come into this Saturday lunchtime game having gone their last 3 matches unbeaten. In midweek they drew their second consecutive game by drawing 1-1 at West Ham.
The Eagles are in 12th position with 18 points and victory at the weekend could see Roy Hodgson’s team climb into the top 10. Though Palace will be the obvious underdogs to win there is no denying that when they click they look like a very well organised team who make it difficult for the opposition. Christian Benteke will be missing for the hosts though after he was sent off against West Ham and this is a blow for the club as Benteke had found his scoring chops and netted 3 goals in his last two matches.
Liverpool are back on top of the Premier League and will be feeling on top of the world after winning their crunch match against Tottenham. A last minute winner from Roberto Firmino gave the Reds a crucial 2-1 victory and they have gone 3 points clear at the top from Tottenham.
Liverpool’s home record cannot be questioned and they have a 100% success rate at Anfield however their away form is worrying. Jurgen Klopp’s team would be 16th in the league based on their away trips, although they have only lost once, they have been dropping too many points by way of draws, it is currently 4 from the six games played. The Reds have not won an away game since September.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool Prediction:
Crystal Palace have done well so far and they will have chances in this game. Roy Hodgson knows Liverpool very well and he will set up his team to defend and play counter attacking football.
Liverpool by far have the better team and will be up for this match knowing that they play first and can take a psychological advantage over Tottenham and go six points clear with a win. Even though the Reds have failed to see out games away from home and get pegged back, it's only a matter of time before a team of this quality start to pick up points on the road and it could well start here.
Palace won’t roll over but we see this match as being a professional victory for Liverpool who will just do enough. The Reds have a great record over Palace and have scored a fair few goals against them too. Watch out for Sadio Mane who on the goalscoring front has been quiet for Liverpool but he has scored in the last six fixtures v Palace and is worth backing to score anytime.
