Match Preview:
Crystal Palace have played well and it has felt like Patrick Vieira’s side have had a solid start to the season. However the Eagles come into this weekend in 17th place. It’s been just one victory so far with 3 draws and 3 defeats and the club need to be eyeing wins especially at home.
Palace’s last game finished in a 2-1 home loss against Chelsea though that game was heading for a draw until the Blues winning goal late on. Worringly there have been no wins in their last four and we would have to go back to August and their win over Aston Villa for the last victory. With it being so close at the moment Palace could well jump 3-4 places with a win here, so it isn’t all bad news.
Leeds started well but have dropped off significantly in recent weeks and are in 12th place with 9 points. Like their opposition they have gone the last 4 games with no wins with their last match ending 0-0 at home to Aston Villa. The big worry for Jesse Marsch’s side has been away form where they are yet to win and have won just 1 point from the 9 they have. Their last away game ended in a crushing 5-2 defeat against Brentford.

Crystal Palace: Chris Richards has a knock and will be assessed.Nathaniel Clyne was due back but is still a major doubt due to his ankle injury. Joachim Andersen could return after his calf injury.
Leeds: Luis Sinisterra is suspended after his sending off last weekend. Archie Gray looks set to miss out again due to his toe injury but should return next week. Stuart Dallas has an on going leg injury and isn’t due back for another 3-4 weeks.

There are players on this pitch that could make this game entertaining and full of goals, but that doesn’t mean we will see it. The problem for both sides are confidence issues where even a point would be seen as a small victory. Maybe it is telling that recent results between the clubs have hardly been classed as quality matches. However the pressure will be more on Palace to perform and get the win being the home side and the fans may start feeling restless given that it has been nearly 2 months with no wins at all.
On their day Palace can play good football just ask Liverpool but they need a bit more ideas in midfield and zip from the likes of Wilfried Zaha who started the season so well, he needs to find that consistency again.
Leeds had an almighty struggle last season and the way they started this one suggested that they had taken steps forward but they are one of the teams in the league who are wriggling back down. They also have a poor record at Palace, so we will back the home side to win a narrow game and we don’t expect to see many goals here.
