Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 30th March 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Selhurst Park

Match Preview:

One week Crystal Palace look safe the other less so, and it has been a frustrating situation for Eagles fans who have had to put up with this uncertainty for much of the season. But with 33 points to their name and 5 points clear of the bottom three they have a fantastic chance to get back onto dryland when they host bottom club Huddersfield.

Anything other than a win for Palace could be devastating. Losing to the bottom club when having such a chance to go clear may not bode well for the remainder of the season.

Form coming into this game for Palace is not great with 1 win from their last three and at home they have just 1 win from their last five, not winning here since February.

Huddersfield have lost their last 3 games in a row and are now 16 points from safety. In fact if Burnley win at the weekend and Huddersfield as expected lose this game they will be relegated from the Premier League.

Huddersfield have lost 11 of their 15 games away from home with just 1 victory all season and come into this game having lost their last 4 matches on the road in a row. Their last away game looked set for victory when they went 3-1 up against West Ham only to end up losing the game 4-3.

Team News:

Crystal Palace: Bakary Sako could be assessed after a lack of match fitness has kept him out of the squad. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has a knock but it is thought to be a minor one. Wilfried Zaha has a hamstring injury but could make a return this weekend

Huddersfield: Juninho has a knock but has rested for two weeks and is expected back. Laurent Depoitre will miss this game because of his foot injury. Demeaco Duhaney is out with a hip injury. Karlan Grant is due back after his knock. Isaac Mbenza is out with a calf injury. Jason Puncheon is eligable to face his parent club and is out

Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Head to Head:

Crystal Palace have won the last 3 meetings between the sides.

5 of the last 6 meetings have ended in under 2.5 goals.

3 of the last 4 meetings have seen more goals in the first half.

Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Prediction:

Palace are around 1.44 to win this game which doesn’t offer great value. At the same time not only are they better equipped to win this game, they are at home, have a good record over Huddersfield and their opponents have many players potentially out of the game. Because of this we will opt to see Palace winning the game at half time. It makes sense for Roy Hodgson’s side to get off to the best possible start, as the longer the game goes on the more frustration will develop with home fans. But this should be a straight forward choice for us.

Crystal Palace vs Huddersfield Betting Tips:

Crystal Palace to be winning at half time at 2.00

Correct Score: Crystal Palace to win 1-0 or 2-0 at 5.00 and 6.00
