England Premier League
Saturday 27th April 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Selhurst Park
Match Preview:
Crystal Palace are a very happy unit because for once they are not going to be involved in a relegation dog fight and have climbed to 12th place. Their last match was a great one for the club as they became just the 2nd team this season alongside Manchester City last August to beat Arsenal in the league at The Emirates. The score ended 3-2 and Palace were worth their win.
They have won 54% of their points from their last 10 games, and while they can still be inconsistent they have proven to be a handful for most clubs in the league if they are on their game. A win here would take The Eagles to within 4 points of the visitors.
Everton will want to forget about their last away match, which ended in a 2-0 loss against the already relegated Fulham. It was a bad day at the office for Marco Silva’s team who over the last 10 games have become a top 6 team side on form.
Of course Evertonians have forgotten about the Fulham defeat and the club bounced back in spectacular fashion at Goodison Park the week after by smashing Manchester United 4-0. It was a memorable and fantastic result for the club who have a realistic chance of finishing in 7th place.
Marco Silva just needs to earn one more point to surpass Sam Allardyce’s total from last season too. Everton have lost 9 games on the road this season which will be a concern but they also have recent wins against West Ham and Cardiff on the road.
Team News:
Crystal Palace: Palace have no new injuries but in the last week have lost the services of both Jeffrey Schlupp (ankle) and James Tomkins (Groin) for the rest of the season
Everton: Richarlison will be a major miss for Everton and is unlikely to play after hurting his rib v Manchester United. Andre Gomes will miss this game as he is suspended for 3 matches. Yerry Mina is set to return after his hamstring injury last month. Theo Walcott has an illness, he will be assessed ahead of the game
