Chelsea vs Tottenham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 1st April 2018
Kick off at 4pm BST
Venue: Stamford Bridge

Match Preview:

By far the game of the Premier League weekend will be on Sunday afternoon when Chelsea take on Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. For the current champions this could be the last roll of the dice for a top 4 finish and taking a vital 3 points from Tottenham. Currently the gap to 4th is 5 points and a loss here would surely mean that Chelsea would miss out on Champions League football next season.

Antonio Conte’s side have been poor lately with 3 losses from their last five games, though they did get back to winning ways in their last match by beating Crystal Palace 2-1. The Blues have won 10 from their 15 matches at home.

Tottenham continue to tick boxes and they come into this game with 4 wins in a row. Over the last 10 games Tottenham has the best form in the league gaining 24 points. They have lost 4 games away from home but have the 2nd best away record in the league. The injury of Harry Kane has been a major blow to the club, but to their credit other players have been able to step up to the mantle.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Team News:

Chelsea: Ross Barkley is due back for this game after his hamstring injury as is first choice goal keeper Thibaut Courtois

Tottenham: Harry Kane is out for another two weeks at least but Harry Winks has a chance to make the squad

Chelsea vs Tottenham Head to Head:

Tottenham have not won at Stamford Bridge for 10 years

Chelsea have been able to score at least 2 goals in 4 out of the last 5 matches

Earlier this season Chelsea won 2-1

Chelsea vs Tottenham Prediction:

With Chelsea out of Europe and needing to get back in, this is their cup final. They have a terrific record over Tottenham here but there are huge question marks on the future of the team. Is Conte joining PSG next season? Is Eden Hazard leaving the club? If some of these stories are true then where is the motivation? Our main bet then is to see under 3 goals scored, the risk on a home win with these stories plus the teams recent form is not worth it and Tottenham would be happy with a point.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Betting Tips:

Under 2.5 goals at 1.80

Half time: A draw at 2.10
