England Premier League
Saturday 19th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Match Preview:
Have Chelsea found themselves under Frank Lampard? Three wins from 4 games suggests that the club are going in the right direction after a topsy turvy start and that would be great news for the Chelsea legend.
The Blues have beaten Southampton and Brighton to win back to back games coming into this one and have scored 6 goals in those matches. At home the club have only won once but it was in their last game and the feeling around the team will be that another 3 points can be achieved here.
Chelsea could break into the top 4 with a win and even threaten for 3rd position, but more than that at this stage of the season will be Lampard’s justification of taking the job in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. Football can be fickle where one moment your the hero the next the zero, but Lampard at the moment is proving his doubters wrong.
Newcastle have won just 2 games this season but they have been against Manchester United and Tottenham. The Longstaff brothers took all the credit in the win over United and rightly so, capped off by a superb goal. Steve Bruce will need that enthusiasm to continue if the Magpies are to surge up the table and avoid the drop.
Newcastle are currently in 16th place just one point from the bottom three. The clubs biggest problem has been goals, which is never a good sign. Just 5 have been scored from 8 games only Watford with 4 and bottom of the league have a worse record. The Magpies have lost 3 from 4 away games and are conceding almost 3 goals a game on the road.
