Chelsea vs Huddersfield: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 2nd February 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Stamford Bridge

Match Preview:

Is Maurizio Sarri regretting that he criticised Chelsea’s players after their 2-0 loss against Arsenal? The Blues suffered one of their most humiliating defeats since Roman Abramovich took over the club when they simply folded against Bournemouth and lost 4-0. So Chelsea come into this game having lost back to back games. It's sad to even speculate whether a teams loss was partly due to a reaction from the players for being criticised, however this is modern day football, and very often players are only motivated by their own selfish agenda, whatever that may be.

Even in the Carabao Cup they needed the luck of penalties to get past Tottenham and Chelsea have now given up 4th place to Arsenal as a result of their form. They have also slipped 7 points behind Tottenham in the chase for 3rd place which now looks like a distant dream.

This game will tell us a lot about Chelsea given that they are playing the team in bottom place and are at home, simply put there is no excuses for not getting a result here. Chelsea have lost just 1 game at home all season.

Huddersfield may have a new manager but that didn’t stop them losing to Everton last weekend, although the game finished just 1-0 to The Toffee men. However a loss is a loss and the club are now 6 points behind 19th place Fulham and a huge 12 points from safety. It’s fair to say that Huddersfield look like certainties to be relegated.

Even though this could be a good time to play Chelsea, this is such a tough game for a side who have won just 2 games all season and have one of the worst away records in the league where they have picked up just 6 points from a possible 33.

Chelsea vs Huddersfield Prediction:

The problem is trying to find value. Chelsea are big odds on at home to win but at the same time how much can we trust them to do so? Or will they win but make heavy weather of it? In short their favourtes tag doesn’t seem that justified. In light of that we will look into different markets and one of them will be to see new forward Gonzalo Higuain score surely against the team bottom of the league, or will Higuain’s signing be another faux pas for the club?

Chelsea vs Huddersfield Betting Tips:

Both teams to score at 2.50

Anytime goalscorer: Gonzalo Higuain at 1.72
