Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea are still there and they are still unbeaten and nobody really expected the Blues to be this competitive in Sarri’s debut season in the Premier League.

Chelsea are just 2 points behind league leaders Manchester City and will return home where they will start as odds on favourites to beat Crystal Palace.

There has been on the face of it a few bumpy results for the 2017 champions. But then again wins that have been converted into draws are not so bad when the opposition has been the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool and it has been a few tough weeks of fixtures for Sarri’s men. They will be expected to get all three points in this game and at Stamford Bridge this season they have won 3 and drawn 2, although their last two games were draws.

Crystal Palace ended a 3 game losing run by stopping a winning one in drawing 2-2 with Arsenal which put to an end the Gunners 11 match winning streak. It was a fantastic point for Palace who have got off to a less than good start in their Premier League campaign and they will want to build on this, but what a tough fixture they have been handed.

The Eagles have actually picked up more points away from home, with 6 points gained on the road compared to 2 at home. But they have lost back to back matches coming into this game.

Chelsea: Olivier Giroud has a chance to be included in the squad after his leg injury in the Carabao Cup. Other than Giroud there are no major injury problems for the club

Crystal Palace: Joel Ward has a knock and is expected to miss this game. Connor Wickham is out with a thigh injury. Scott Dann has a small chance to return to the squad

Chelsea have the quality to win the game but the bookmakers are being very outlandish in the price being quoted for a Palace victory which is around the 13.00 mark. Palace are a much better team than that and even though they have suffered many losses already this season they haven’t proven to us that they are a team who lie down and get slaughtered. Let’s take a look at their away record and we see that they have only conceded 6 goals so far, that is not a bad record considering they are in 14^th place. Arsenal, Bournemouth and Manchester United who have all had much better starts than Palace have conceded more on the road. So whilst we believe that Chelsea can win the game we should take Palace to get the victory for us on the handicap as our main bet.
