Match Preview:
Chelsea are looking very polished under new manager Maurizio Sarri and the team whilst playing in a more direct way can remind us a little of Antonio Conte’s first season with the Blues.
The home side have started the Premier League campaign in the best possible fashion with 4 wins from four games. At home they have beaten Arsenal and Bournemouth scoring 5 goals in those games. It is of course far too early to tell how far this Chelsea team can go but hearing the recent thoughts of Willian who claims under Sarri everything is working out well, and that he wants to stay for at least five more years is a good sign.
Cardiff are in reality just hoping to avoid relegation and their season will most probably be built around points gained at home. Make no mistakes this is a very tough ask for them to get anything from this game and manager Neil Warnock may well be thinking ahead to the clubs next fixture. That doesn’t mean that they will come over to Stamford Bridge and roll over, but we should expect to see Chelsea get a few goals.
Cardiff are searching for their first win of the season and at least showed heart against Arsenal in their 3-2 defeat in their last game. But Chelsea play a different style than the Gunners and won’t be so generous.

Chelsea are going to be a difficult team to beat at Stamford Bridge and they ooze quality wherever you look. Whilst the defence may get tested by stronger teams - evidently as Arsenal stuck 2 past them at this ground, against teams such as Cardiff Sarri’s team could run riot and we expect them to get a very comfortable victory here.
Watch out for Olivier Giroud. The French striker has not been in good form for either club or country for the past 6 months but he found his scoring boots for France in the UEFA Nations League and once a striker scores sometimes more follow, and Cardiff would be the perfect opponent for him to capitalise on that.
