England Premier League

Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Stamford Bridge
Match Preview:
With the squad, manager and budget they have it hasn’t been a good season for Chelsea but they will be looking to finish it in the strongest possible fashion and there have been hints that not only may they do that but next season may just be the time when everything clicks for the club. Chelsea come into this weekend in 11th place and the objective will be clear to finish in the top half of the table and try to claim European football for next season. The Blues have gone their last 4 games unbeaten with wins over Crystal Palace and Newcastle and two draws against Brentford and more impressively away to Manchester City.
With results going their way it’s very possible that Chelsea could move up a couple of places however if they drop points here they could see local rivals Fulham go past them. Home form has not been good enough for the Blues this season but we can only really focus on recent games and that has been positive with 4 wins from their last 5 here.
Burnley are in 19th place and look like one of the favourites to be relegated but were thrown a lifeline when Nottingham Forest were plunged into the bottom three after having four points taken off them for breaking FFP rules. To add to that Vincent Kompany’s side pulled off a rare win before the international break as they beat Brentford 2-1 at home and now have 17 points. Because of goal difference Burnley are still two wins away from being safe but it isn’t the doom and gloom it was a few weeks ago and Kompany’s side have a chance here if they can find some consistency. The good news is that Burnley have been able to go their last two games undefeated however an away trip to Chelsea is going to be daunting and few will expect them to pull off a result.
Team News:
Chelsea: Trevoh Chabolah and Ben Chilwell both have knocks but Chabolah looks like a doubt for this game, there is more confidence that Chilwell has a chance to play. Romeo Lavia has been ruled out for the season with a thigh injury, Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Reece James and Robert Sanchez are all injured. Christopher Nkunku is out with a hamstring injury but has an outside chance to be back next week
Burnley: David Fofana cannot face his parent club, Han-Noah Massengo could be assessed with a suspected muscle injury but looks doubtful to return for this game. Jordan Beyer has a knock and Ameen Al Dakhil is missing through an unspecified injury. Aaron Ramsey is out for the season with a knee injury
Chelsea vs Burnley Head to Head:
The last time the clubs played this fixture was back in 2021 and the game finished 1-1.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Chelsea romped home as 4-1 winners.
Chelsea are unbeaten against Burnley in the last 10 meetings.
Chelsea vs Burnley Prediction:
Chelsea are a best priced 1.30 to win this game and despite carrying so many injuries we think that is a fair price and we expect the Blues to have more than enough to win this game. Chelsea are evolving but it is true they can lose surprise games and are not at the level they need to be but look to be heading there slowly. The opposition are just too poor if we are being brutally honest and we think Chelsea may have to suffer a few scares given the competitive nature but can really test Burnley out and they should be able to grind them down as the game goes on. Forget the win market which will be much too short for most backers but the goals market should be more concentrated on.
