Chelsea received a massive boost at the weekend without even playing as Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United all lost to give Maurizio Sarri’s team some hope of a top 4 finish.

As the league stands Chelsea are in 5^th place with 66 points and only goal difference separates themselves and Arsenal. That goal difference is 4 and could be shaved off in the next few games. But what Chelsea need is simply to win.

The Blues need to win this game or they likely will not be finishing in the top 4 based on Tottenham and Arsenal’s remaining fixtures. Their last game ended in a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield, but before then the club had found form and had won 3 consecutive games. At Stamford Bridge form is very good and they have won 13 points from their last 15. They have conceded just 1 goal in their last five home matches.

Burnley have been able to kick on in recent weeks and they will be safe now barring a mircale comeback from Cardiff and other teams around them finding form. It won’t happen and Burnley can ease to safety now as the games run out for every other club.

Sean Dyche’s team have won 3 games in a row meaning that they would be 5^th in the league on form alone. While the club are in good form they have still lost 9 games this season away from home, although their last away match ended in an impressive 3-1 victory over Bournemouth. The last time the team faced top 6 quality was Liverpool where they lost 4-2.

Chelsea: Marcos Alonso is 50/50 to feature after picking up a muscle injury that caused the player to miss the Europa League victory over Slavia Prague. Eden Hazard has a knock, but it isn’t considered serious and he should be able to play. Antonio Rudiger will miss this game with his knee injury and isn’t due back until the end of the month

Burnley: Phillip Bardsley could be back in the squad after his leg injury and will be assessed ahead of the game. Peter Crouch looks to still be unavailable after his appendix operation but could return before the end of the season
