Cardiff’s good form which included winning back to back games was wiped out at the weekend when Watford came to Cardiff City Stadium and demolished Neil Warnock’s side 5-1.

The Watford defeat was a stark reminder to all involved with the club that relegation remains a real concern. Currently Cardiff are 17^th and just one point above the bottom three but a loss in midweek could see the team in the relegation zone if Southampton beat Fulham.

Everton had played a game more than the teams around them and also because of the Carabao Cup final the club got a rest at the weekend and didn’t have to play. This is a huge advantage for a team that come into this game in poor form and desperate for a win after losing 3 matches in a row.

The Toffee men have slipped 7 points behind Watford and seventh position and they come into this match having won just 1 game from their previous five. There has been a lot of pressure on manager Marco Silva who has seen his side win 9 points from their last 30 which would put them in 17^th position. Away from home the club have lost 7 from 13 games played.

Everton: Leighton Baines could miss this game through a rib injury, there has been no new updates for the player. Phil Jagielka has been pencilled in to play this game after his knock but will be assessed. Yerry Mina should be back after his foot injury. Kurt Zouma is suspended after his two yellow cards against Watford

Cardiff had found some much needed form but would have been shaken after losing to Watford in the manner that they did. Everton come into this game in poor form but would have taken a lot of strength from Cardiff’s defeat and of course have had a much needed rest. If Silva has prepared his team properly then the club will be expected to come here and come away with three points. Anything less would be seen as a disappoinment even if this is an away game. Our tip is to see Everton get all three points, and we think goals will come later in the game, with a lot of possession held in the middle of the park.
