England Premier League
Saturday 28th December 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Turf Moor
Match Preview:
Burnley were finding form over the past few weeks and had won two games in a row. That ended at Everton with a narrow 1-0 loss and the club face a potentially difficult game when they take on Manchester United at the weekend.
Sean Dyche’s team are in 12th place and depending on results they could break into the top 10 with a win here. Though the club have now lost 3 of their last five matches. At home Burnley along with Liverpool are the only side yet to draw and they have won 60% of their games at Turf Moor. However whilst they did win their last home game they have still lost two from the last three.
Manchester United finally let out a roar and it happened on Boxing Day as they beat Newcastle 4-1 at Old Trafford. The club did find themselves a goal behind and so the victory was even more impressive in the end. The game highlighted just how dangerous and good the club can be when they want to play and surely they will come here with some confidence.
United are of course chasing a top 4 finish and come into this game in 7th place but just 4 points behind that position. The club have picked up 10 points from their last 15 and away from home they have won just once in their last four games. Their last away match ended in a 2-0 loss at Watford, and the club have won just twice on the road this season.
Team News:
Burnley: Ben Gibson looks set to miss this game with a groin injury and Aaron Lennon is ill but could recover in time for this game
Manchester United: Scott McTominay has a knee injury, it is not thought to be serious but he looks set to miss this game. Marcos Rojo will face a fitness test ahead of this game after recovering from a muscle injury
Burnley vs Man Utd Head to Head:
Last season Manchester United won this fixture 2-0.
Burnley have not beaten Manchester United in 10 years.
There is a 60% chance to see under 2.5 goals.
Burnley vs Man Utd Prediction:
Neither teams form is eye catching but if United can play at half their quality that they showed against Newcastle just a few days ago we should expect an away win. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was furious with his team when they lost against Watford comparing it to pre season training and the club responded. Paul Pogba’s recent lay off seems to have done him well and he has come back in good spirits and played some good football. If he can run the show here then Burnley are in for a difficult match and we think backing United to win this game is the way to go here. Marcus Rashford as ever is on fire and should be backed to add to his goal tally.
Burnley vs Man Utd Betting Tips:
Manchester United to beat Burnley at 1.83
Anytime goalscorer: Marcus Rashford at 2.10
