England Premier League
Saturday 5th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Turf Moor
Match Preview:
These two teams come into this game desperate for three points and because of that we could witness an entertaining game.
Burnley are in 11th place with 9 points and two clear of Everton. The home side have had a slow start to their Premier League campaign although at the same time they seem to have stabilised and have gone their last 3 matches undefeated. Their last game ended in a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa and at home they have won 66% of their games getting victories over the likes of Norwich and Southampton. They have lost one game in front of their home fans which was against Everton’s traditional rivals Liverpool with that game ending 3-0 to the Reds.
Since the defeat by Liverpool what has been encouraging with the home side is that they have been scoring goals, with 10 so far they have more than Manchester United.
It’s felt like doom and gloom for Everton who have lost their last 3 games in a row. The club have fallen to 15th place as a result and their last match ended in a 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester City. That result was probably expected and at least the club had some good moments and even threatened the champions at times. But it is the defeats already to the likes of Sheffield United, Bournemouth and Aston Villa that have hit the club hard.
The feeling is that even though we are only 7 games into the new season there have been too many toothless displays and the results have meant the bookmakers installing manager Marco Silva as the favourite to be sacked.
The Toffemen’s away travels so far have been poor with no wins thus far, gaining just a single point in their 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.
