Burnley vs Crystal Palace: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 2nd March 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Turf Moor

Match Preview:

Burnley’s loss at Newcastle in midweek stopped a 4 game unbeaten run and just reminded Sean Dyche and his players that the club are not exactly out of the woods just yet. They have 30 points and should be safe but there is still just 5 points difference from the bottom three.

The Clarets have the chance to extend that lead when they play Crystal Palace at home and if we take out the last game they have found some good form lately and should still feel confident being back at home.

Crystal Palace have the same points and the same form as their opponents after they also lost in midweek. Although their opponent was Manchester United with that game finishing 3-1. Palace have shown a lot of fight in the last few weeks and are still on a high following how far they have reached in the FA Cup.

The good news for The Eagles is that their recent away form is very good where they have lost just 1 in their past five and their last game ended in an emphatic 4-1 win away to Leicester.

Team News:

Burnley: While Burnley have 3 long term injuries they have no new injuries coming into this game

Crystal Palace: Mamadou Sakho missed the last game with a knock and will be assessed but could miss this game also. Julian Speroni is still set to be out also with a knock

Burnley vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:

In the reverse fixture Crystal Palace won 2-0.

Burnley won this fixture 1-0 last season.

Both teams have not scored in the last 4 meetings.

In 2015 Crystal Palace won at Burnley which is their only win at this ground in the last 10 games.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace Prediction:

Both teams have the same form, have the same points and are desperate for the win, but would take a point. We believe this game is destined for a draw, but whilst a draw can be a risky choice we will instead go for the double chance on the outside team to put more eggs in our basket. The outside team for this game according to the bookmakers is actually either team, who are more or less priced up the same. We will back the away side for this bet maximum stakes and for smaller stakes back the correct score at half time.

Burnley vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips:

Double Chance: Crystal Palace or draw at 1.44

Half Time: Correct Score 0-0 at 2.50
