Burnley vs Bournemouth: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 22nd February 2020
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Turf Moor

Match Preview:

Burnley come into this game with 8 points more than Bournemouth and are in 11th place with 34 points, the same number as Arsenal. A win would take them into the top 10 and the club are in very good form.

Sean Dyche’s team are unbeaten in their last four games and that includes winning 3 of their last 4. Along the way they have beaten Leicester and Manchester United in impressive results and their last game ended in a 2-1 victory over Southampton.

One week Bournemouth are playing good football and look like they will survive and then the next we are reminded that they could well be a Championship team next season. They are in 16th place and just 2 points above the bottom three. They lost last weekend 2-1 to Sheffield United but before that had won two consecutive games, beating teams around them, and yet they are still in trouble.

Away form is poor, they have lost their last 4, scoring just 1 goal in the process. Overall they have lost 9 from 13 and scored just 11 goals in those 13 trips.

Team News:

Burnley: Ashley Barnes is still out with his hernia. Matthew Lowton has been ruled out with his knee. Chris Wood is only 50/50 for this game because of a hamstring injury.

Bournemouth: No new injuries coming into this game, however they have a number of long term injuries.

Burnley vs Bournemouth Head to Head:

Burnley won’t forget last seasons result in a hurry as they won this fixture 4-0.

Burnley have won the last 3 meetings.

There is an 80% chance to see both teams to score.

Burnley vs Bournemouth Prediction:

There seems to be a lot of value on the home win considering the form the club are in and playing a team below them who are in average form but are playing really poorly away from home. So the home win it is for us, and both teams to score has a great return so we will back that too. If Chris Wood misses this game it is a blow to the home side but they should still have enough in the tank to win this and that is why we think that Jay Rodriguez will be able to step up and help them out. As for Bournemouth it’s not impossible that they can get something here but we feel if the club are to survive in the Premier League it will be determined more by their home form from now until May.
