Brighton vs Wolves: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 15th December 2021
Kick off at 7:30pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium

Match Preview:

Should there be legitimate concerns at Brighton? Graham Potter's side have picked up just 4 points from their last 15 although they are avoiding defeats and this recent record has seen them draw four of their last five games.

Brighton are in 11th place and a win in midweek could see the club climb into the top 10 as it is so close in the league at this present time. The clubs last game finished in a 1-1 draw against Southampton and indeed they have played out 2 games in a row that have finished in a 1-1 score line. The club are not easy to beat and have been stubborn but at the same time they are clearly struggling to win games.

It's been 4 games since Wolves recorded a win and their good form which we witnessed throughout much of October and November looks like it is coming to an end. If not their form has certainly hit a wall. Wolves last game was always expected to be a defeat as they had to play Manchester City away but the club frustrated the champions in the end and the score line was only settled by a penalty from Raheem Sterling. It was  an open game even though in fairness Wolves were outclassed.

Wolves are in 9th place with 21 points and they are at a crossroads in the season where they could settle for a mid table campaign or possibly try to mount a European qualification.

Steven Alzate and Danny Welbeck are still missing. Lewis Dunk is out for a month with a knee injury. Joel Veltman will be assessed but could make a return after his recent face injury.

Brighton vs Wolves Prediction:

Brighton are due a win and have been quite good in defence and they will be expecting to compete in this game. It's felt like some time since they won at home and they could have Wolves on the back footing in this game. How much will Wolves be missing Raul Jimenez is also worth thinking about.

We will be backing Brighton to win this but with the draw covered on the refund for extra safety, and let's also back Neal Maupay to score again, the veteran has been in really good form and usually is a player who performs better at home than away.

Brighton vs Wolves Betting Tips:

Asian handicap (0.0 Brighton) at 1.65

Anytime goalscorer: Neal Maupay at 2.75
