England Premier League
Saturday 26th August 2023
Kick off at 5:30pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
Brighton are in 1st place due to the fact of winning games of course but also of their goal record. They have already smashed in 8 goals this season after beating Luton 4-1 away from home and then making light work of Wolves and stunning them in 9 2nd half minutes to win that game 4-1 also. It has been a fantastic start to the season for the Seagulls even though De Zerbi continues to lose their best players but they still have an engine room and look to be going in the right direction. It’s got to a point where Brighton games have created a buzz around the area and it will be high and noisy when West Ham come to visit.
There has been a lot of criticism and noise coming out of West Ham over the summer. Namely that David Moyes isn’t easy to work with and that the club have shown a lack of ambition in the summer transfer window. In reality fans are upset that Declan Rice left the club and in fact for now the Hammers seem to be in a good place. They opened their season with a 1-1 draw away to Bournemouth and then followed that up with a brilliant 3-1 victory over Chelsea who have spent over £300m this summer. That win over Chelsea felt like a statement win but sometimes the Hammers have been able to produce the goods at home but struggle away from it and that will be the concern for fans heading into this weekend.
Team News:
Brighton: Julio Enciso has a knee injury, it isn’t yet known how serious it is but he is expected at least to miss this game for now. He is the only injury concern for the Seagulls heading into this game.
West Ham: There are no injury concerns for the club but Nayef Aguerd is suspended for this one after being sent off against Chelsea last weekend.
Brighton vs West Ham Head to Head:
Last season Brighton won this fixture 4-0.
Brighton have won the last 3 meetings in a row.
West Ham have not beaten Brighton in 11 years and over 12 games.
There is a 70% chance to see both teams to score.
Brighton vs West Ham Prediction:
We should see a good and open game between these two clubs and it could quite possibly be the most entertaining of the weekend in terms of chances. Brighton will be super confident and will want to add to their 8 goals already and De Zerbi will be absolutely delighted with the club's start. West Ham tend to really struggle against the Seagulls especially away from home and it must be worrying for the club to see that Brighton have scored 9 past them in just the last 3 fixtures.
Whilst this game used to be fairly even in the market the bookmakers are taking no chances now and Brighton will be lucky to get on at 1.50, for some that is still a price worth going for and we will be doing so. West Ham can offer a lot on their day but like most seasons we expect David Moyes side to be at their strongest at home. For Brighton as we well know they are full of goals and we will be keeping a close eye on Solly March who scored a brace last weekend and Karou Mitoma who also scored and also netted last season over the Hammers.
Brighton vs West Ham Betting Tips:
Brighton to beat West Ham at 1.50
Anytime goalscorer: Kaoru Mitoma at 3.00
Anytime goalscorer: Solly March at 3.75
A player to be sent off at 5.00
