England Premier League
Friday 5th October 2018
Kick off at 8pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
The Premier League has been promising more Friday night games this season and this is one of them as Brighton will take on West Ham at the AMEX Stadium.
Chris Hughton’s side are on a poor run of games which has seen them fall to 15th place. However the club have had some difficult fixtures, having to face both Tottenham and Manchester City in their last two games and the one positive that Hughton can take from those defeats was that his side were never outclassed, losing 2-1 and 2-0 in those respective games. It is still odd to think that Brighton’s only win this season has come against Manchester United, but they will be motivated by this match as they can leapfrog the Hammers with a win here.
West Ham who were so poor in the opening month of the league have found their feet, and after wins over Everton and Manchester United and a draw against Chelsea have climbed from the bottom of the pack to 14th and 7 points.
They come into this game with an unbeaten streak of 3 games but away from home they have won just 33% of their matches. But this side look like a different one to a month ago and they will fancy their chances to get something from this encounter.
Team News:
Brighton: Dale Stephens did have a delay with his hamstring injury last week but has made significant progress and will be assessed ahead of this game, other than that there are no major injury worries for the club
West Ham: Carlos Sanchez is close to being back in the squad after suffering a knock in the Carabao Cup a week ago. Jack Wilshire is due to miss this game with an extended problem with his ankle
Brighton vs West Ham Head to Head:
Last season this fixture ended 3-1 to Brighton.
5 of the last 6 meetings either home or away have ended in over 2.5 goals.
West Ham have not beaten Brighton away from home in 7 years.
Brighton vs West Ham Prediction:
Just because West Ham have recently beaten Manchester United and claimed a solid draw over Chelsea this doesn’t mean that they will come to Brighton and get what should be 3 points based on form. The Hammers have a habit of raising their game when the chips are down against the best teams in the league and with Brighton they won’t know the best way to play against them.
The bet that is waiting for us and should be our main one is to see both teams to score. Brighton already have a few at home and West Ham come here with a lot of confidence and won’t be afraid to attack. Our other bet will be to see the draw at half time and this is a game which should open up more in the 2nd half.
Brighton vs West Ham Betting Tips:
Both teams to score at 1.72
Draw at Half Time at 2.00
Anytime goalscorer: Marko Arnatovic at 2.75
