England Premier League

Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
It really depends how you view recent results, you could argue that Brighton have only lost 1 game in their last five but they have also only won one game in their last four. There does seem to have been a slight drop off in form from Roberto De Zerbi’s side and maybe they are feeling a little tired?
The Seagulls were beaten last weekend losing 1-0 to Fulham and before that they managed a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace. As a result they have slipped to 8th place with 35 points and have fallen 4 points shy from seventh. The clubs majority of results have been wins with 5 so far but of note they have lost 4 and that includes being defeated in 3 of their last 5 home games so there does seem to have been a shift from a side who were much more solid looking a few months ago. There was good news in midweek as Brighton were able to reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup after narrowly knocking out Stoke with a 1-0 victory.
West Ham got a huge victory last weekend as they made lightwork of Nottingham Forest at home winning 4-0. The win was great of course but the manner of it would have caught attention and one would think that the players will be in good spirits for this game. The Hammers have been able to climb up to 16th place and have 23 points but are only two points from being back into a relegation fight. Form has been better over the past month with just one defeat coming against Tottenham and the team are slowly but surely picking up points but they need to find more wins consistently. In midweek David Moyes team played in the FA Cup and they were knocked out by Manchester United losing that game 3-1.
Team News:
Brighton: Billy Gilmour may return from fitness issues, Levi Colwill though looks set to miss out again for the same reasons. Pervis Estupinan has a muscle injury and will have to be assessed. Solomon March has a knock but is tipped to be fine .
West Ham: Both Maxwell Cornet and Kurt Zouma will be assessed for fitness issues after recovering from injury. Vladimir Coufal is a doubt with his heel and Lukasz Fabianski has to be assessed due to a blow to his head and eye and he may have to miss out.
Brighton vs West Ham Head to Head:
Last season Brighton won this fixture 3-1.
Brighton are unbeaten against West Ham in the last 11 meetings.
West Ham have not beaten Brighton since 2012.
There is an 80% chance to see both teams to score.
Brighton vs West Ham Prediction:
The price on West Ham looks like good value and of course that is because not only are Brighton having the better season but the Hammers just can’t seem to beat them over the past decade. Keep in mind the majority of those results have ended in draws and some games have been very close.
To sum up West Ham so far is to suggest that they are a side who could do better with the players they have and at the beginning of the season one could well have predicted that they would be where Brighton are right now. Brighton are a good team who have taken blow after blow this season in losing their manager and then the talented Leandro Trossard but they keep coming back for more, but their form has suffered and this is a huge game for the Hammers in clearing the path to more safety.
