Brighton vs Tottenham: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League

Kick off at 7:30pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium

Match Preview:

Brighton’s indifferent form continued at the weekend as they drew 1-1 away to Crystal Palace and they have gone their last 3 games now without victory. This includes losing away to Arsenal which could be expected but drawing against Burnley has to be seen as a poor result. The Seagulls enter this game in 9th place with 27 points and because of their strong start they are well in the mix to push on for a European place but if this form were to continue even for three games more the gap would probably be too big, that’s how quick football changes. The club's last home game was the draw against Burnley but they will be happy to be returning to play in front of their home fans given that their last two have been away.

Tottenham didn’t play as well as they could have against Everton last weekend but that won’t matter to them given that they won the game 2-1. The club have recovered from a poor November and have won their last 3 games in a row including wins over Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. With some of the top sides dropping points Tottenham find themselves well in the mix and are in 4th place, have gone 2 points clear of Manchester City, and while they are six points behind Liverpool in 1st place they have this game in hand. Tottenham’s away form is solid and they have the 2nd best in the league having won 18 points from a possible 27. They have won 5 games out of 9 and lost just once, which was against Wolves.

3 of the last four meetings have seen under 2.5 goals.

Brighton vs Tottenham Prediction:

Tottenham look back and they have a great opportunity to try and be one of the contenders for the league title. That may seem unlikely but we know that this is a side who can find form and be consistent that was evidenced in the first three months of the season. Goals are coming for the side who have netted 8 in their last three games and Richarlison who has really struggled at the club since joining has bagged a few now, even scoring against his former side Everton. Goals equals confidence and he has been linking up play well too and he comes here in very good spirits.

Brighton need to find their zip again, this is a side who can be highly dangerous at home and they have only lost once here. The problem is that they have won 4 games but drawn 4 and that has been a real anchor for them. This is a stern test for Tottenham but they do seem like the more confident side coming into this one, their price is good value for us and we think the Londoners can at least get a draw in this game.
