Brighton vs Man Utd: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 26th September 2020
Kick off at 12:30pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium

Match Preview:

Brighton have had a good start to the season and this game will be a dangerous and tricky one for Manchester United.

Whilst it’s true that Brighton lost their first home game of the season 3-1 against Chelsea, many observers noted that they were perhaps the better side over the 90 minutes. They answered that by travelling to Newcastle and beating a confident Steve Bruce side 3-0. That game was followed up by keeping another clean sheet as they knocked out Preston North End from the Carabao Cup with a scoreline of 2-0.

Graham Potter’s side have had some good results over Manchester United of late and you sense that the club will not be in fear of the Red Devils visit to the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

As for Manchester United they started the campaign off in desperate fashion losing at Old Trafford 3-1 against Crystal Palace. There haven’t been many shocks in the league so far but this was one of them and perhaps the biggest. After United’s brilliant finish to the end of last season they were expected to carry that on and be a force in this season, that hasn’t quite happened.

The good news was that United beat Luton in the Carabao Cup after manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rang the changes, he made 10 in total and United went onto win the game 3-0. Though it was telling even with quality on the field that they were making heavy weather of it and were only one goal up with two minutes to play. But substitutes Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood grabbed two late goals.

Team News:

Brighton: Yves Bissouma is suspended for 3 games after he was sent off v Newcastle. Alexis MacAllister has a slight groin strain. Tariq Lamptey has a knock but it is thought to be minor and Dale Stephens has a muscle injury but will be assessed for this match

Manchester United: Phil Jones has a knee injury and looks ruled out of this game. Sergio Romero isn’t available due to personal reasons. Axel Tuanzebe has recovered from his foot injury but won’t be selected for this game as he is only just back in training

Brighton vs Man Utd Prediction:

We expect to see a very exciting game of football. Will Brighton lose their 2nd game in a row at home despite better form? Will United get off to a nightmare start in the league and lose their opening two games? A lot of questions to be answered and we don’t feel we will see such a tactical game.

Both clubs will go for attack, Brighton because the season is early will take some risks and could get punished but one has to question United’s defence at this moment. The home side can certainly punish them, but we will back United to just get the job done. They need Bruno Fernandes back to his best. Big questions will be asked of the away side at the weekend, can they come up with all the answers?
