Match Preview:
Brighton are very close now to Europa League qualification and that is a huge achievement for the club. When Roberto De Zerbi came into the side after Graham Potter left for Chelsea there was the worry that all of Potter’s good work would be undone. The Seagulls also lost Leonardo Trossard to Arsenal one of their star players and yet here we are, Brighton are about to record one of their most famous top flight seasons.
At home Brighton have been generally strong although let’s not forget it hasn’t always been plain sailing and they have lost five times, but they have become a very strong unit and it is clear to see that the club have a strong squad. Participating in Europe next season should be a strong reason for the best players to stay at least for another season too.
Manchester City are champions once again and they have now won 3 league titles in a row, that is an incredibly rare feat although their rivals Manchester United did achieve this in the 2000s. This is a strange game then as there isn’t much to fight for and City could have bigger fish to think about having reached the Champions League final, where they will play Inter Milan.
Away form for Pep Guardiola’s side has been excellent and they would be in 2nd place for that and have won 36 points from a possible 51. What has been incredible is that the goals keep raining down even on the road and they are averaging 2 goals per game. City’s last away game finished in an easy 3-0 victory over relegation threatened Everton no mean feat given that the tricky looking game came inbetween the Real Madrid games.

Brighton: Adam Webster remains a doubt with a knock. Jeremy Sarimento is out with a foot injury. Soloman March could be assessed because of his hamstring.
Manchester City: There are no new injuries for the club ahead of this game.

Because it’s all said and done we expect an open game and of course Brighton have more to play for. That doesn’t mean of course that City will just lie down, when has that ever happened? But do we expect to see a very open game with lots of chances for both sides.
Erling Haaland is chasing records still and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him on the score sheet but we must remember too that Guardiola may rest some players as the club has an FA Cup final date with Manchester United coming up, so their season is far from done.
We expect to see goals in this game and history points to that too, there is great value on the correct scores and if Brighton can give their all especially as City will have one eye on cup competitions it is possible to see a score draw.
