Brighton vs Leicester: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 24th November 2018
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium

Match Preview:

The Premier League is back after the international break with a whole host of games kicking off on Saturday afternoon. Here we will see Chris Hughton’s Brighton take on Claude Puel’s Leicester side at the AMEX Stadium.

Brighton come into this game in 12th place and are three points behind their visitors. Perhaps the break came at the right time for the club who had just suffered back to back defeats against Everton and Cardiff, shipping 5 goals in those games.

The losses came at an odd time for the team who had won their previous 3 games in a row, although it is important to point out that both defeats came away from home. At home Brighton have lost just 1 game this season from five matches, And have beaten the likes of West Ham and Wolves here in their last two home games.

Leicester have won just 1 game from their past five but are unbeaten in their last 3, with two draws and a win sandwiched in between. Alongside Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, Leicester are the only team not to have drawn away from home where their current record is won 3 and lost 3. If their win-loss pattern continues then they would lose at the weekend.

Team News:

Brighton: David Button is expected back after his knee injury, as is Pascal Grob through a lack of match fitness. Jurgen Locadia has had nearly two weeks to recover from illness and should be back on the team sheet. Davy Propper is another that should return after his ankle problems. But Dale Stephens is definitely out with a ban after his red card v Cardiff

Leicester: Daniel Amartey is out long term with a leg injury and won’t return until February/March next year. James Maddison is out with a knee injury. Harry Maguire will miss the game with his knee injury.

Brighton vs Leicester Head to Head:

Last season Leicester won this fixture 2-0 it was Leicester’s first win away to Brighton since 2006.

There is a 70% chance to see under 2.5 goals based on recent match ups.

Brighton vs Leicester Prediction:

Brighton have been really impressive at home this season and have become a very tough team to beat. It is clear that Hughton has moulded his side to survive in the Premier League based on their home form. Leicester don’t completely look at the races and aren’t scoring enough goals. They usually don’t get results at Brighton despite last season and this is a game where we are going to opt for the home side to get all three points but cover the draw for extra security. Glenn Murray has been on fire for Brighton and has scored in the last two games the side have played at home. He is certainly worth backing with value to score in 90 minutes.
