England Premier League
Sunday 29th October 2023
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
Sometimes Brighton have looked utterly brilliant and other times they have dropped points when you least expect it, so it has been an interesting start to the season for Roberto De Zerbi’s side but a confusing one for anyone backing them. The Seagulls have gone their last 3 games without a win after defeats against Aston Villa and Manchester City and a draw against Liverpool. Still Brighton have started well and have 16 points and are in 7th place and a win here would put them right back into the mix.
At home the Seagulls have a strong record with 10 points won from 15 and just one loss which came against West Ham. De Zerbi’s side have gone their last three games at home unbeaten and while they remain suspect at times they look solid at home. Fulham are in 13th place with 11 points and it hasn’t been the worst of starts from the Cottagers and while some games haven’t gone for them they can remind themselves that they are still a good seven points clear of the bottom three. Their 3-1 win over Sheffield United a few weeks ago is their only win in the last four games but they have had tough matches against Tottenham and Chelsea. With a win the Cottagers could advance 2-3 positions but away from home they have struggled more with just one win so far. That victory came back in August and so they haven’t managed a win since then but have drawn two times on the road against Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
Team News:
Brighton: Danny Welbeck has been ruled out for some time and has no fixed return date from a muscle injury. Jakub Moder has recovered from injury but has a lack of match fitness and this game looks like it will come too soon for him. Julio Enciso, Pervis Estupinan, Tariq Lamptey and Solomon March remain out.
Fulham: Matthew Dibley-Dias was due back but will be assessed following a hamstring injury. There are no new injuries for the Cottagers but Issa Diop, Kenny Tete, Tosin and Adama Traore all remain out.
Brighton vs Fulham Head to Head:
Last season Fulham won this fixture 1-0.
Although there have been some draws Brighton have not managed to beat Fulham for six games going back to 2017.
3 of the last four meetings have seen under 1.5 goals.
Brighton vs Fulham Prediction:
Fulham have had the better of Brighton in the last few years but this could be a good opportunity to end that and we do expect Brighton to win this game. They have been strong at home and we expect them to continue. The recent injury to Danny Welbeck has been a blow but the Seagulls have their secret weapon up their sleeve in the very talented Evan Ferguson. Sometimes the manager has been happy to keep the forward on the bench but we expect with space up front Ferguson will start. He has scored goals already this season and looks hungry and has the talent to do so again and he will be first on our list to get on the score sheet.
While Fulham have decent results the scores have been close and as previously mentioned there has been a few draws, this is a game that should be advantageous for the home side and they are decent value.
Brighton vs Fulham Betting Tips:
Brighton to beat Fulham at 1.57
Correct Score: Brighton to win 2-1 or 3-1 at 8.00 and 11.00
Anytime goalscorer: Evan Ferguson at 2.25
