England Premier League
Saturday 26th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
It’s 16th v 15th so there will be a lot to play for when these two teams clash on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
Brighton have been woefully inconsistent and come into this game with just 1 win in their last five matches. Last weekend they lost 2-1 at Aston Villa and they have just 9 points overall this season. The good news for Graham Potter’s side is that they have a decent home record, even though it is loaded with draws they have only lost here once this season from 4 games. What is very convincing is their last match here ended in a 3-0 rout of Tottenham, if the club can take something from that game then they have a chance to get points in this one.
Last weekend was massive for Everton and under fire manager Marco Silva, after losing 4 games in a row they had to win their next one and they did beating West Ham 2-0. Everton played some good football and Silva took some chances, for instance playing just one up front at home in Richarlison and given Alex Iwobi that attacking midfield role. There was also starts for Bernard and Tom Davies.
The jury must still be out on Silva though who has mostly chopped and changed since the beginning of the season. Did he just try a host of tactics until one of them stuck and did he think this one through? Will he start with the same batch of players or change the side up again? Overall Everton have been poor this season but perhaps the West Ham victory was a catalyst to start the season proper for the club.
If it is then Everton will have to improve their away form - they are still searching for their first victory on the road and have the 2nd to worst record in the league picking up just 1 point from a possible 12. They have conceded 6 goals and scored just 1.
Team News:
Brighton: Aaron Mooy is suspended for this game after receiving 2 yellows in the clubs last game. Bernardo is still out with a knock
Everton: Yerry Mina is a major doubt after picking up a knee injury. He is classified as 50/50 but looks unlikely he will make the final cut. Cenk Tosun has a groin injury and there is bad news about new signing Jean-Philippe Gbamin, his thigh injury is worse than first thought and he will now miss the rest of the year
Brighton vs Everton Head to Head:

Everton have not beaten Brighton away from home since 1983, although it should be noted that the clubs have only played here two times since then.
