England Premier League
Saturday 14th September 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
This is a really big game for Brighton who need to get back on track after having their bubble burst in the last few weeks. Graham Potter’s side started with a bang with a 3-0 win at Watford but since then it has been all down hill and a draw against West Ham followed two defeats in a row to plummet the side down to 16th place with a goal difference of already -3.
Brighton can be forgiven for losing their last game which was away to Manchester City with that one ending 4-0. However home games against the likes of Burnley are the ones they will need to win otherwise this could start turning into a long season for the club.
Burnley are in 12th place and have the same points (4) as their hosts. They also have the same type of form, winning their opening weekend game and then going the next 3 matches without a win. However Sean Dyche’s team have had three very difficult fixtures away to Arsenal and Wolves and then at home to Liverpool where they tried and put up a fight before being outclassed and losing the game 3-0.
Team News:
Brighton: Leandro Trossard is the only new doubt for the club after his groin injury but he will be assessed ahead of this game
Burnley: Daniel Drinkwater has a ankle injury and isn’t expected back until the following week and should miss this game. Gundmusson has a 50/50 chance to make his comeback after his calf injury last month. Dwight McNeil should be available for selection after picking up a slight knock
Brighton vs Burnley Head to Head:
Last season this fixture ended 3-1 to Burnley.
Brighton have not beaten Burnley at home since 2013.
There is a 70% chance to see under 2.5 goals.
Brighton vs Burnley Prediction:
Two very equal sides will do battle on Saturday afternoon and don’t make the mistake that this match is too early in the season to matter, because it isn’t and this is a massive game for both sides, simply put they could be vying for the same final position at the end of the season.
Burnley like coming here and Brighton have really struggled at home over the teams past four meetings and we feel the value certainly lies with Burnley in this game. These two teams may be on the same number of points, but the harder fixtures have been for Burnley, which means they shouldn't be ruled out in this game. History says there aren’t many goals in this game, but we have some players on the pitch who know how to score goals in the likes of Glenn Murray and Ashley Barnes, so we think there could be a few. We will take the risk and back the away team to edge through this one but with the draw covered also.
Brighton vs Burnley Betting Tips:
