England Premier League
Saturday 28th December 2019
Kick off at 12:30pm GMT
Venue: Amex Stadium
Match Preview:
15th and 16th will meet on Saturday and so there will be a lot to play for when Brighton take on Bournemouth for this lunch time kick off.
Both clubs have 20 points and are just two clear of the drop zone making it a realistic possibility that either club could be relegated this season. Brighton come into this game having no wins in their last 4 games and they have lost their last two matches, against Sheffield United and Tottenham.
Home form has been worrying for Brighton with no wins in their last 3 games and they have only won 33% of games at home. Their last home win came at the beginning of November against Norwich.
Bournemouth did really well on Boxing Day to earn a draw against Arsenal who had their new manager Mikel Arteta in charge. True Eddie Howe’s side had taken the lead but facing a team rejuvenated with a new boss is never easy. The club are hit and miss but have had some really good results lately including the Arsenal draw they were able to beat Chelsea away from home.
On the road they have lost 5 of their 9 games, though the Chelsea victory did end a 3 game losing streak. They have done well in defence too where they have conceded 12 goals away from home, whilst not picture perfect Bournemouth are not the type of team to be losing by big scores either.
Team News:
Brighton: Lewis Dunk missed Boxing Day clash through illness but is expected to be fine for this game.
Bournemouth: Jordan Ibe could be set to miss this game with illness. Simon Francis could make the squad after a minor knock
Brighton vs Bournemouth Head to Head:
Bournemouth won’t forget last season’s fixture in a hurry when they won this match 5-0.
In the 4 recent Premier League games that the clubs have met each other Brighton has no wins.
There is a 75% chance to see over 2.5 goals.
Brighton vs Bournemouth Prediction:
The league doesn’t lie and these teams really are equal. Bournemouth have pulled out some decent away wins lately and Brighton are struggling at home, but home advantage probably gives Brighton the edge, however Bournemouth rarely lose convincingly. Plus there is the added fact that Brighton have not beaten Bournemouth in recent league games. Therefore, we will opt for Bournemouth on the +1.0 asian handicap which offers very good security as it's unlikely Brighton will win by a two goal margin. We will also back both teams to score since it has a good outcome for this fixture. We expect a good game of football and it is lucky we are seeing such a fixture now. If this was in April or later we would be expecting a very cautious match given the teams positions.
Brighton vs Bournemouth Betting Tips:
Asian handicap (+1.0 Bournemouth) at 1.58
Both teams to score at 1.80
