Match Preview:

Brighton and Arsenal will kick off the early evening game on Boxing Day and if it is anything like last season this should be a cracking match.

The season before Brighton stunned Arsenal with a win, of course much has changed since then so it will be fascinating to see how this one plays out.

Brighton have fallen to 13^th place after losing their last 3 games in a row. Whilst they are 9 points clear of the bottom three there is still plenty of time for Brighton to get dragged down and they will need to start gaining more points. At times this season they have looked like a top half club but sadly for them it has only been in glimpses.

Arsenal got a good win against Burnley at home and even though they were expected to win they really had to after their recent matches. That had included being knocked out of the Carabao Cup against eternal nemesis Tottenham and losing against Southampton.

However at almost the half way stage of the season we should be saying well done to Unai Emery for his first 4 months with the club which has saw The Gunners fighting for a top 4 place again. If Chelsea lose and Arsenal win they would leapfrog The Blues and reach the 40 point marker.

Brighton: Lewis Dunk misses this game through suspension after being sent off against Bournemouth. Alireza Jahanbakhsh is out with a hamstring injury

Arsenal: Hector Bellerin and Rob Holding are out until January. Nacho Monreal will be assessed but may miss this game through a muscle strain. Henrikh Mkhhitaryan has an ankle injury and looks set to miss this encounter

Brighton have been solid at home although it should be noted that they did lose 2-1 against Chelsea in the midst of The Blue’s poor form. Arsenal were really exposed last season at The Amex and even though they have improved they may find some troubles here once again. We have seen a different side to Arsenal lately one that has been a little more naive in defence. And yet they have so many brilliant attacking players if they score early this game could be over by half time. Our main bet here though is to see the away side get all three points after a slow first half.
