Match Preview:
Brentford are one of the most in form sides in the Premier League and while they will be the underdogs to win this game they will feel confident being at home that they can get something from this one.
There are certainly positive vibes emitting from the club and since the restart they have drawn 2-2 against Tottenham and beat West Ham 2-0 away from home. The result against Tottenham was tinged by disappointment given that they had gone 2-0 up but they still didn’t lose the game but against West Ham the Bees put in an impressive performance and seen the match out. The Bees haven’t lost for the last five games and come into this game in 10th place and they could climb 2-3 positions with victory here depending on other results.
At home Thomas Frank’s side have only lost one game but drawn 50% so far and that includes their last 3 in a row which have come against Chelsea, Wolves and Tottenham. The only side to defeat the Bees so far at home are the current league leaders Arsenal.
Liverpool are on a mission and after a slow start the Reds have now won 4 games in a row. The clubs last game was a hard fought 2-1 victory over Leicester that took two own goals to win the game and while that was hardly a vintage performance it’s still 12 points from 12 and the Reds are now on the cusp of challenging for a top four place. That could be achieved with a win here if Tottenham have dropped points the day before. Away form has been poor with just two wins so far but the good news is that has come in their last two games with victories over Tottenham and Aston Villa.
Team News:
Brentford: Ivan Toney has a leg injury although it isn’t sure how serious it is and he could be assessed but is rated at just 50/50. Kristoffer Ajer has a lack of match fitness and isn’t due back for two weeks. Shandon Baptiste is out for at least two weeks due to a muscle injury, and Aaron Hickey is also out due to fitness issues. Frank Onyeka is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Liverpool: Harvey Elliott has a knock and will be assessed, Curtis Jones has some fitness issues and remains a doubt to be back for this game. Andrew Robertson has a knock and will be assessed, James Milner remains a doubt with his hamstring. Diogo Jota is out with a hamstring with no return date and Luis Diaz is missing for a possible two months due to his knee.

Brentford vs Liverpool Prediction:
Using the h2h for this fixture is useless given how sporadic the fixtures have been through the years but last season was very interesting given the difference in quality between the sides and yet when this Brentford side show up they can make life very difficult and that is why they achieved a 3-3 draw. The worry for the home side is the possible blow to Ivan Toney who has been on form since the restart. He could still play in this game but remains a doubt and may not be risked and his absence will have an effect on the team.
However for Liverpool they are missing key players also and this game could well be very close and closely fought. The Reds are in good form and are trying to see the next few weeks out before some key players should return but they have certainly been hampered this season by the rate of injuries. The Reds are 1.50 to win and were not too sure if that represents the best of value, you may want to instead look into the half time markets as there seems to be better value.
