England Premier League
Saturday 14th January 2023
Kick off at 5:30pm GMT
Venue: Brentford Community Stadium
Match Preview:
Brentford were recently dumped out of the FA Cup by West Ham but in the league Thomas Frank’s side are having a very good campaign. In their last game which was also their latest home game they beat Liverpool 3-1 and the Bees have only lost one game so far at home.
Frank’s side have also won 11 points from their last 15 on offer and we would have to go back to the end of October for the last time the club lost. Presently Brentford are in 9th place and above Chelsea and by the end of this weekend they could go as high as 7th and even go past Liverpool. No one is really mentioning it yet but there could well be a possibility of qualifying for European football and the good times are certainly with the club this season.
Bournemouth are in 16th place and remain one side out of at least 8 that could face a relegation battle this season. The Cherries are only a point shy of the bottom three and form has seen just 3 points earned from their last 15. Indeed the club come into this game in very poor form having lost their last 3. The teams last game finished in a 3-0 defeat against Manchester United. Victory here could see them climb up 2-3 places as it is so tight around that half of the table but they would have to vastly improve their overall form on the road if they were to do that. The club has the 2nd to worst record away from home so far with just 5 points won from 27 and are currently on a 4 game losing streak.
Team News:
Brentford: Aaron Hickey has a chance to return from fitness issues and will be assessed. Shandon Baptiste remains at only 50/50 to return due to a muscle injury. Frank Onyeka is also 50/50 as he recovers from his hamstring and Ivan Toney is nearing a return from a leg injury and will be assessed.
Bournemouth: Adam Smith is suspended for picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, Ryan Fredericks is 50/50 to make this game after a recent knock. David Brooks looks likely to miss out again due to his hamstring and Muara Neto could be assessed for a return following his lay off with his hamstring.
Brentford vs Bournemouth Head to Head:
The teams have not played here in the league since 2020 and Brentford won 2-1.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture the game finished 0-0.
There is a 60% chance to see under 2.5 goals.
Brentford vs Bournemouth Prediction:
Brentford are looking strong and you have to respect a side that can put 3 goals past Liverpool without Ivan Toney. On the road it can be a different story for the Bees but at home we feel fairly confident that they can take on a lot of quality and get the wins they need. With all due respect Bournemouth don’t possess that quality on the whole and we expect a fairly routine home win here.
Brentford are odds on to win but not a terrible price and they could well make sense in a double. But even as a single they are tempting to back.We will also back two different goalscorers in the market one will be Toney but he still isn’t sure to start so we will also be taking on Bryan Mbeumo who has impressed of late and did score against Liverpool.
Brentford vs Bournemouth Betting Tips:
Brentford to beat Bournemouth at 1.62
Anytime goalscorer: Ivan Toney at 2.00
Anytime goalscorer: Bryan Mbeumo at 2.50
