England Premier League

Kick off at 7:30pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Match Preview:
The news surrounding Bournemouth coming into this game is that manager Scott Parker has been sacked after just four matches. Results haven’t helped but the reason seems to be a falling out and disagreement with the clubs owners over transfer funds. The club have spent just over £20m and perhaps Parker had a point or two, one only has to look at another newly promoted side in Nottingham Forest who have spent over £100m trying to gamble on staying in the Premier League.
Parker is gone and in his place comes Gary O’Neil the assistant coach for now. The club have started in poor form after beating Aston Villa but then again how much blame can they take given that they have had to face Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal? The worry is the goals conceded it has been 16 so far and of course last weekend they were demolished 9-0 by Liverpool. It’s been just two goals scored so far and yet despite the misery they are currently in 17th place, finish there this season and the club will be celebrating.
Wolves are in 19th place and have had a slow start to the campaign. No wins yet for Bruno Lage’s team and two draws which have come against Fulham and more impressively against Newcastle. Indeed against the Magpies Wolves were heading for a great victory until they equalised in the last minute. But that could be encouraging signs for the club who will be hoping to take advantage of the chaotic scenes at Bournemouth and push on.
Team News:
Bournemouth: Ryan Fredericks looks like he could miss out again with a calf injury but if so is being pencilled in to return next weekend. Lloyd Kelly and Ben Pearson (both knocks) will be assessed. Jamal Lowe will be assessed after illness. Joe Rothwell is out for another 2-3 weeks with a thigh injury. Junior Stanilas has no fixed return date with his groin. David Brooks is ruled out due to fitness issues.
Wolves: Chiquinho is out long term with his knee, he is the only player missing for the club coming into this game.
Bournemouth vs Wolves Head to Head:
The clubs have not played each other here since 2019 when Wolves won 2-1.
Bournemouth have not beaten Wolves since 2015.
There is an 80% chance to see both teams to score.
Bournemouth vs Wolves Prediction:
Bournemouth are a mess and the sacking of Scott Parker feels untidy, we have seen owners be erratic before, look at Watford and going back Blackburn. It never ends well and the club will be amongst the favourites to be relegated. It is true that caretaker manager O’Neil can try and rally his players when everything seems against them and this and the fact they are at home may spur some of the players on.
Wolves have started slowly but they did so last season too and they haven’t been playing poorly, there are signs that the team are coming together now and we expect them to win this game. Raul Jimenez should be taken on to score in this game, he has a fantastic record of scoring against Bournemouth having done so in his last 4 games playing them. This could turn out to be quite a physical match with a lot at stake for the home side who will want to bounce back from their Liverpool thrashing but confidence has to be low and remember there might be many shell shocked players who do not agree that Parker should have been sacked so hastily, it can play against the emotions. The bottom line is one club come into this game stable and the other looks like a sinking ship.
