Match Preview:
Bournemouth and interim manager Gary O’ Neil are finding out just how hard life is in the Premier League lately. Here is a side who went six weeks unbeaten and yet two defeats in a row have left the club in 14th place and only four points shy of the bottom three.
The Cherries have had a good run nonetheless but one would be wondering now if that is all unravelling? Having to play Tottenham after losing against Southampton and West Ham is no easy task and they will start this game as the underdogs. The club haven’t tasted victory in three weeks and in both of their recent defeats they failed to score. Home form so far only sees the club ranked in 17th place with two wins, two defeats and two draws, although it is just one loss in their last 4 home matches.
Tottenham will not want a hangover from their Champions League midweek game against Sporting. The Londoners at home were expected to win but they had to come back from behind to draw 1-1. However there was controversy late on when Harry Kane appeared to score a late winner but after a lengthy VAR check the goal was ruled out and this infuriated manager Antonio Conte who was then sent off. The draw in Europe follows title denting losses to Manchester United and Newcastle, which has left Conte’s side trailing Arsenal by 5 points having played a game more. Still Tottenham need to remain upbeat and they come into this weekend in 3rd place and would join Manchester City on 26 points with victory here.
Form is not good with 3 defeats from their last five games but the club have been getting the job done against mid table and bottom half teams. Away from home it’s just one win from their past four games and overall they have earned 8 points from a possible 18.
Team News:
Bournemouth: Dominic Solanke will be assessed due to an ankle injury, Lloyd Kelly and David Brooks are missing. Murara Neto has a knock but could recover in time.
Tottenham: Richarlison is out for at least another two weeks with a calf injury. Dejan Kulusevski is out for the same amount of time with his hamstring.

It’s always surprising how football changes so quick with mindsets and form and at this present time Tottenham look to be slipping away from a possible title challenge, it was a different story at the beginning of the month. This game won’t decide their fate of course but at the same time they need all 3 points here especially if the teams around them get wins at the weekend. This game is certainly a winnable one for Conte’s side and they might be facing their opponents at the right time whose form has also dipped.
For Bournemouth not many would be expecting them to win this game and if they can get back to basics they could surprise the visitors. We should expect them to raise their game given the home advantage and the longer Tottenham do not score the better it will be for the Cherries who will then get their home support behind them. All doesn’t seem well at Tottenham at this time and again we have seen scenes where Conte has reacted in a very negative way and then got himself sent off in midweek, this can filter down to the players. We still think Tottenham should be backed for this encounter but either way we will learn of Tottenham’s mental stability at the weekend, they are the better side and they should win this gameon paper.
