Match Preview:
Bournemouth’s belief that they can stay up will surely be tested in this game as time really is running out. On the other end is Southampton who have been safe for weeks and have played some good football, and have come on strides from last season. Manager Ralph Hassenhutl will feel justified that in June the owners gave him an extended contract and he is putting in great work in a tough job.
That Southampton will finish mid table after last season is real progress and the wish will be that they can further that next season. Danny Ings has been superb for the club this season and if they can keep him and add further additions to the club then the Saints are heading in the right direction.
For Eddie Howe and Bournemouth it looks like they could be heading for the Championship, but it's not over yet and they have shown some very good strength of character in their recent displays against tough opposition in the likes of Tottenham, Leicester, and Man City, managing 4 points from those games. But when you lose 21 games you can’t expect to stay in the Premier League and form since the restart for the club has been poor if you take out the three most recent games. Against Tottenham they had 2 goals ruled out by VAR. Were they the right decisions? Either way the club can feel hard done by when they really needed the points.

It’s difficult to oppose Southampton here, they are a tough team to beat lately and they will want to enjoy their football as the season comes to an end, but will they have the motivation? They have players that can kill a game off and if fit it is worth backing Ward-Prowse to get a goal yet again against Eddie Howe’s team.
Whilst this game could go either way the motivation has to be for the home side, with relegation looming if they lose. The safest option here could be to focus on goals, as predicting the match result looks tricky, but we do see goals being part of this game.
