Bournemouth vs Nottm Forest: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 4th February 2024
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Match Preview:

Bournemouth’s good form at the end of last year might well be enough to see them to safety and they will need it given that they come into this game with no wins in their last 3 games. Recent defeats against Liverpool and Tottenham on the face of it should not be too concerning and they were the better team in their last game away to West Ham which finished in a 1-1 draw. The Cherries will be happy to be returning home and will feel that they will be the favourites to win this game. Because of goal difference a win means that they won’t be able to change position but in the best case scenario they could move 11 points clear of the bottom three which would feel like a victory in itself.

Nottingham Forest had started well under new manager Nuno Espiro Santo but they have now lost two games in a row. However Forest have still adapted a new attitude under Santo and have played good football. Take their last game which was a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal. The game was 0-0 after an hour before Arsenal’s quality told but Forest were close to finding an unlikely point. The club are in 16th place with 20 points and remain one of the sides threatened with relegation and are only 2 points above the bottom three. Away form has not worked out for the club currently who have lost 7 times from 11 games although they have managed 4 points from their last 9 on offer which is an improvement. Forest did lose their last away game though in a 3-2 defeat against Brentford.

Bournemouth vs Nottm Forest Head to Head:

Last season this fixture finished 1-1.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Bournemouth won 3-2.

The last 3 meetings in a row have all seen both teams to score.

Bournemouth vs Nottm Forest Prediction:

Bournemouth have had some bad luck and remain a decent side and their home form was clearly improving before they were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool and the question now will be can they pick themselves back up? Should conceding goals to the very best sides stop your form in its tracks, in a sense, it shouldn’t but football really can be a psychological game.

Nottingham Forest are in the same boat in that respect because the players were uplifted by Santo’s arrival. Had they faced West Ham a few weeks ago they probably would have beaten them, and the club's owners will be taking a deep breath hoping that Santo’s honeymoon period isn’t already over. This is a tough away game for them though and it will be how they perform at home where the club needs to be more judged, for us this is a home win and keep backing Dominic Solanke for the home side to score. He is having a very solid season.

Bournemouth vs Nottm Forest Betting Tips:
