England Premier League
Saturday 19th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Match Preview:
Bournemouth come into this Saturday kick off in 10th place and have 11 points. They have had a decent start to the season, which has included a good run of unbeaten games but is that now threatening to unravel as they have not won for their last two matches?
Their last game ended in a 1-0 loss to Arsenal. Considering this game was away from home and Eddie Howe’s side had the same number of shots on target as the Gunners there was much to take from that performance.
At home the club have only won 1 game, which was against Everton but they have also only lost one so far. A win could take the club up 2-3 places depending on other results.
Norwich’s win over Manchester City a few weeks ago is looking like a huge fluke. They are in 19th place and have lost 4 of their last 5 games with the other match being that 3-2 win over the current champions. Last time out was a real shocker losing at home to Aston Villa 5-1 and one would feel that the confidence has been taken out of the side after that heavy defeat.
Along with Liverpool, Norwich hold the distinction of being the only club in the league who have not drawn a game yet. The most damning statistic coming into this game is that they have the worst away record in the league where they have lost all 4 matches so far.
Team News:
Bournemouth: Chris Mepham is struggling with a calf injury and looks like he won’t make this game. Whilst the club have another five long term injuries, Mepham is the only new doubt for the club ahead of this game.
Norwich: Todd Cantwell will be assessed after his hamstring injury. Ben Godfrey looks set to miss this game having had a hernia operation. Grant Henley is still out with his groin. Kenny McLean will be assessed after his hip injury. Jamal Lewis has a problem with his knee and will be assessed to see if he is fit to play in this game
