England Premier League
Saturday 2nd November 2019
Kick off at 12.30pm GMT
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Match Preview:
The week 11 fixtures of the Premier League kick off on Saturday at lunch time when Bournemouth in 9th place will take on Manchester United in 7th.
Bournemouth could move up 2-3 places with a win and move past their opponents, currently only goal difference separates the teams. Form though for Eddie Howe’s team has hardly been convincing. On one hand the club have lost only 1 game in their past five but on the other they have drawn 3 from their last four with their last victory coming against Southampton 5 weeks ago. Their last game ended in a disappointing 0-0 result against bottom of the league Watford.
The Cherries have lost just once at home in their five matches so far, which was inevitably against the champions Manchester City. They have just one home victory too and have drawn 60% of their games so far in front of their home fans.
It’s been a good week for Manchester United and that will be music to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ears. First up the Red Devils beat Norwich 3-1 last weekend despite missing not one but two penalties and then knocked Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup winning 2-1 at Stamford Bridge to move into the quarter finals. Marcus Rashford has bagged a few goals and seems to have stepped up and this is all good news for a club who have faced a torrid time in the last few months.
In fact United have only lost 1 game in their last four and have had some tough fixtures including Arsenal and Liverpool where they drew both of those games. The Norwich win was the clubs first away win of the season and they will be hoping to build on that.
Team News:
Bournemouth: The club have no new injuries just an injury update from Dan Gosling who has been out for the past 3 months. The player is back in training but it seems that this game will come too soon for him
Manchester United: Victor Lindelof suffered a knock in the Carabao Cup midweek game but should be fine to play here. Harry Maguire has a dead leg but has a good chance to be fit. Marcus Rashford has a slight knock but is expected to play and Paul Pogba’s return from an ankle injury has been delayed until at least the end of November
Bournemouth vs Man Utd Head to Head:
Last season this fixture ended 2-1 to Manchester United.
Manchester United have won the last 4 meetings in a row.
Bournemouth have not beaten Manchester United since 2015.
Bournemouth vs Man Utd Prediction:
This is another big test for Solskjaer’s team because they seem to have recaptured some form. The problem is a lot is resting on Rashford and Daniel James’ shoulders but the team as a unit have played some good football, their victory in midweek at Chelsea would have been massive for the club.
Bournemouth are not to be taken lightly but United may just approach this game like they did with the Norwich one and play a 4-2-3-1. We can see United building on their recent good wins and get another three points here which will push them ever closer to the top five. It’s tempting to also back Rashford to score again as he is in form, and form and confidence counts for a lot when betting on scoring goals.
Bournemouth vs Man Utd Betting Tips:
Manchester United to beat Bournemouth at 2.10
Anytime goalscorer: Marcus Rashford at 2.75
