England Premier League
Saturday 25th February 2023
Kick off at 5:30pm GMT
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Match Preview:
Bournemouth are in 17th and just one point shy of the bottom three but recent form has at least been encouraging and the Cherries have just one defeat in their last four coming into this weekend. The club are also on a two game unbeaten streak and while that may not sound special it’s a huge when you’re fighting off possible relegation.
Last weekend the Cherries beat Wolves 1-0 away from home and that followed a 1-1 draw to high flying Newcastle. There have been plenty of positives to pick from but the reality is that Premier League status is far from certain. At home it’s been just 3 wins from 11 games so far but 5 points have been won from their last 12 here and that is also a significant improvement.
Manchester City are trying to win their 3rd Premier League title in a row and it is evident what a titantic battle they have on their hands. They are 2 points behind Arsenal coming into this weekend but they have also played a game more and mistakes and not being clinical enough seem to be catching up with Pep Guardiola’s side. To note City also had to play in midweek and away from home as they travelled to Germany to play RB Leipzig in the Champions League, that game finished 1-1 and the tie is certaintly far from over. Even though the game was away from home given City are one of the favourites to win the competition the draw felt disappointing.
Don’t mention draws to Manchester City though it is the no go area after last weekend as they were left stunned when drawing 1-1 with Nottingham Forest. It was a game that City completely dominated but they slipped up at the end and let Forest score with their only shot on target and this let Arsenal climb back on top and cancelled out more or less City’s recent victory over the Gunners.
Team News:

Bournemouth vs Man City Head to Head:
The last time the teams played each other at Bournemouth’s ground was back in 2019 when Manchester City won 3-1.
Manchester City have won the last 12 meetings in a row.
Bournemouth have never beaten Manchester City home or away or in any competition.
Bournemouth vs Man City Prediction:
We predict Manchester City to win this game but who would go against them? We have seen this season though that City have been making some harder work of opponents that you wouldn’t expect but we expect to see a bounce back here after drawing their last two games in a row. It is incredible pressure at City because of the high bars that have been set so if they do not win a game in two there is pressure, even Erling Haaland who has scored 26 goals already is being put into question. Not so much the player but some have suggested that he is wasted at a club like City because they don’t play him in early enough which means that we are missing some of his fast paced runs and instead see more of his tap ins.
City are loaded with such quality they should be winning these games by 4 or 5 goals and they have taken some flack lately. All good champions take that out on sides near the bottom at one point and we have a feeling that City could click in this one, so go for goals as per usual City’s short odds will be no value for most.
