Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Monday 1st October 2018
Kick off at 8pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Match Preview:

The Monday night game will take place between Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth side and Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace. Bournemouth have had a mixed start to the season but still have 10 points and will feel that their season has started well overall. This is despite losing 4-0 to Burnley last weekend who hadn’t won a game all season but returning at home will suit them just fine.

At home Howe’s side have not lost a game and have scored at least 2 goals on each occasion bringing their total to 8 goals in 3 matches. Currently they would be 5th in the league based on home games only.

Crystal Palace could go above Bournemouth with a win and come into this game in 11th place and three points behind them. Palace stopped a 3 game losing streak by beating Huddersfield and then drew at home to Newcastle. Palace have a 66% win rate away from home after wins over Huddersfield and Fulham.

Team News:

Bournemouth: Charlie Daniels has recovered from a knee injury and entered training. Dan Gosling will be assessed after suffering a calf injury a few weeks ago

Crystal Palace: Jairo Riedewald is ruled out with a muscle injury sustained in the teams Carabao Cup match

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:

Last season the teams drew 2-2 in this fixture.

In the last 3 games played at Bournemouth the home side have failed to win.

4 of the last 6 meetings have ended in a draw.

Based on recent games played at Bournemouth there is a 66% chance to see under 2.5 goals.

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace Prediction:

This should be a very close game and we should expect to see a cautious start from both sides. But you get the sense that there is goals to be had here. Bournemouth have already scored their fair share at home and Palace don’t have the strongest defence in the league. Palace do have the capabilities to spring a surprise and looking at the value of them it may be worth putting a small stake on the away win, but have Bournemouth recovered from their 4-0 whitewash at Burnley? Our main bet though will be to see 3 goals or more.

Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips:

Over 2.5 goals at 1.72

Crystal Palace to beat Bournemouth at 3.10
