Match Preview:

Maurizio Sarri, the Chelsea manager, must have breathed a sigh of relief after he saw his side reach the next round of the FA Cup at the weekend when they beat Sheffield Wednesday. Previously Sarri had criticised his players after their listless performance in their last league game where they lost 2-0 to Arsenal. But The Blues looked on their game at the weekend and he will expect that to continue.

Presently the race for 3^rd and 4^th place is very tight and Chelsea only have a three point advantage to both Arsenal and Manchester United. They cannot afford to drop more points as Tottenham in 3^rd place have opened up a 4 point gap.

Overall Chelsea have a good away record having won 7 of their 11 matches on the road and have the 4^th best record in the league.

Bournemouth got welcome relief with a 2-0 victory over West Ham in their last game which ended a five game streak of no wins. Though Eddie Howe’s team are 12^th, the gap to 7^th is just 3 points, and there is still all to play for.

They will welcome being at home once again and even though they will be facing the 2017 champions they have the 6^th best home record in the league where they have lost just 3 times and have won 21 points from a possible 36. They are unbeaten at home since the beginning of December although that defeat ended 4-0 against Liverpool, and since then the club have not faced a top 6 side here.

Bournemouth: Joshua King has a knock but will be assessed ahead of this match and is expected to be back. Callum Wilson could be the big loss for the club as he has a knee injury but he will also be assessed

Chelsea: Alvaro Morata has been loaned out to Atletico Madrid on an 18 month contract. Chelsea have no new injuries ahead of the game

This game should be very close and it doesn’t feel that justifed or at least good value to be backing Chelsea who are odds on. The Blues have a good away record but they are rarely putting teams to bed and Bournemouth will not be pushovers at home. Chelsea have a lot of quality in midfield and it will be interesting how the home side handle that but The Blues are missing some genuine quality up front. We feel that both sides will have good chances in this game and our main bet will be to see both teams to score. For smaller stakes we will predict the correct score.
