England Premier League
Saturday 28th October 2023
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium
Match Preview:
Bournemouth and Burnley will be involved in a genuine ‘six pointer’ on Saturday with Bournemouth still searching for their first win of the season and Burnley with just one victory so far. The Cherries come into this game after having lost six times already and four in a row. Last week they lost at home against Wolves in a game that finished 2-1. The huge worry for Bournemouth at the present time is the lack of goals being scored with just six converted so far and being in 19th place isn’t going to ease those worries. And yet at this stage so early in the season it just takes one win to move out of the bottom three and the onus will be on a side who were in the Premier League last season to win this game at home to Burnley. At home though the Cherries have only won 2 points from a possible 15.
Burnley are in 18th place and just one point above their hosts, their only win so far has come against Luton although that was away from home. Form like Bournemouth is very poor with four defeats in their last five games. Burnley aren’t scoring many goals like their hosts and they have the second to worst defence in the Premier League with 23 goals shipped only Sheffield United have conceded more with 24. In their last two games the Clarets have shipped seven goals against Chelsea and Brentford. It’s been a difficult start for Burnley especially in defence and that has been a concern given that they have a legendary defender in Vincent Kompany in charge.
Team News:
Bournemouth: Lewis Cook is suspended and not due back for another two weeks. Tyler Adams, Emiliano Marcondes and Ryan Fredericks remain sidelined.
Burnley: Jordan Beyer, Hjalmar Ekdal and Michael Obafemi are all ruled out. Connor Roberts has a one game suspension and misses out. Benson Manuel has a knock and is only 50/50 to return but could be assessed.

Bournemouth vs Burnley Prediction:
This is a fixture that will be closely followed on Saturday afternoon and will give us some more insight into one of these teams fortunes this season and who could struggle more. Burnley certainly have the better over their hosts and they have experienced a small taste of victory in this campaign. We expect a close game but it is interesting to see that this fixture has a good success rate of seeing goals in it. Of course we could question the quality up front for both sides but can also question how poor both teams defences have been. Backing 3 goals or more looks like good value and just because both sides have been poor this season playing each other means playing at the same level and we could see a tense opening but goals as the game goes on and backing more goals in the 2nd half looks good to back too.
