Match Preview:

Bournemouth pulled off the biggest surprise last weekend in the Premier League when they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 1-0. Nobody was seeing it even if Chelsea are in bad form, mostly because Bournemouth were also - they had come into the game with 4 consecutive defeats.

Eddie Howe’s side earned 3 massive points last weekend but it will mean zilch if they don’t pick up something here. The club are in 14^th place and only 4 points is the difference to being in the bottom three. Having said that a win here could take the club up two more places and widen that gap even more.

Bournemouth have only won 2 games at home and they have lost their last two matches here although one of those was against Liverpool.

Burnley are in 12^th and are two points ahead of their hosts. Form has not been good but they did beat Newcastle in their last game, which was impressive given that the Magpies have been in good confident form. It was also a good mental sign given that Burnley’s last game ended in a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Tottenham. A win could see the club climb into the top 10.

Away form is not good and the club have lost 50% of their games on the road, winning just once. And even that victory was against bottom club Watford.

Team News:

Bournemouth: Jordan Ibe is ill and looks set to miss this game. Andrew Surman will have a late test on his calf before the game. Callum Wilson has recovered from injury and could be risked for this game, but realistically the club may rest him for their next match. Harry Wilson is out with a dead leg.

Burnley: Ben Gibson looks set to miss this match with a groin injury. Kevin Long could return after his hip injury. Charlie Taylor could also return from his hamstring injury. Chris Wood will be assessed after his minor knock but should be fine.

The timing could be right for this game where we have two clubs who could get sucked into the bottom three but just have enough points right now to feel half safe. This means we could see tactics take second fiddle as both teams start positively and try to earn three big points. If this plays out like above then we could witness a good game which means a few goals, and we think goals could be the order of the day. Even though Bournemouth did beat Chelsea this could be a one off result and we expect Burnley to be the stronger team and we will back them to win. Eddie Howe’s side have so many injuries the list seems to be getting bigger by the week.
