Bournemouth vs Burnley: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 6th April 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Match Preview:

Bournemouth come into this game very much safe on 38 points and they are 10 points clear of the relegation zone. At the same time the club are also too far from finishing in a European place with so many teams ahead of them. Unless they win most of their remaining games and hope the other teams ahead drop points, it simply isn’t happening. In short there isn’t too much motivation to play for a win other than the pride and passion of the players.

This has seemed to show lately as Eddie Howe’s team have won just 1 match in their last five and their last game ended in a 2-0 defeat at Leicester. At home the club have only lost 1 game in their last five although they have gone their last 3 games without a win with their last match here finishing in a 2-2 draw against Newcastle.

Burnley need the win as they are in 17th position and it has been a huge comedown of a season for Sean Dyche’s team who impressed last season but have struggled in this one. The good news for the club is that they ended a 4 game losing streak by beating Wolves in their last game 2-0.

Currently Burnley are 5 points in front of Cardiff, which is still too close for comfort and getting a win at the weekend would be massive for the club. However their away form remains poor where they have 1 win in their last 5 and only 3 wins all season.

Team News:

Bournemouth: The club have up to 5 players out through long term injury, but have no new injuries or players returning since their last game

Burnley: Peter Crouch is out after having an appendix surgery. He is the only absentee for the club

Bournemouth vs Burnley Head to Head:

Earlier this season in the reverse fixture it was one way traffic as Burnley beat Bournemouth 4-0.

The last time the teams played here in 2017 Burnley won 2-1.

6 from the last 7 meetings have ended with both teams to score.

Bournemouth vs Burnley Prediction:

Straight off the bat we will go for history and our main bet has to be both teams to score, 6 times from 7 games between these two teams have seen both teams score, which is amazing statistic. Burnley would have taken a lot of heart beating a quality team like Wolves, but that game was at home and they do tend to struggle on the road. Having said that Bournemouth’s players might be on holiday mode and Burnley does seem to have a good recent history over them, so we will also back the away result with the draw covered also. But we should be looking into staking our funds more on the both teams to score. Almost all of the winning motivation does lie with the away team who could, in theory, finally be clear of the drop.

Bournemouth vs Burnley Betting Tips:

Both teams to score at 1.70

Asian handicap (+0.5 Burnley) at 1.85
