Bournemouth vs Brentford: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 11th May 2024
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Vitality Stadium

Match Preview:

Bournemouth are just going to miss out on any European qualification but this has been a successful campaign for the club as they try to reach the 50 point marker and everyone associated with them should be proud of a good and solid season. The club were beaten 3-0 at Arsenal last weekend but that shouldn’t faze them playing a team away from home at this stage of the season who are going for a league title. They will be more concentrated on their two recent wins against Wolves and Brighton and it is their win over Brighton by 3-0 which was the clubs latest home match. At home the Cherries majority result has been the win which they have done 7 times and recent home form has been fantastic with 4 wins and one draw from their last five games.

Brentford have survived and that is all that matters for the club coming into this game and it means that the team can be relaxed in this game and try and enjoy it. Last weekend the Bees drew 0-0 at home to Fulham and this is a campaign where they can only realistically try to finish in 15th place and ahead of Everton. Recent form has seen the club win 8 points from their last 15 on offer. The worry for the club has always been their away form and they have one of the worst in the league having lost 12 times so far, the clubs last away match ended in a 1-0 defeat against Everton.

Bournemouth vs Brentford Prediction:

We are not expecting this game to be one of the classics, with both sides very much safe and both sides with not much to play for. In this instance then the story turns to the team at home who will be playing their final home game of the season and will want to use this game as thank you to their fans, this is why we believe in backing the Cherries here is a good solid punt. We don’t expect to see many goals so that is another option. The market is fairly open as there isn’t much between these sides but we should also be getting on Dominic Solanke to score in this game. He has had a fantastic season and it would be hard to think that he won’t get on the score sheet in the final home game of the season. Bournemouth would have been favourites even if this game was played much earlier in the season, and while they are still here their price is very favourable, so get on the home victory.
