Betting Tip Previews:Our first selection (Asian handicap -1 Benfica) is the obvious but fairly short odds bet of the day, because if Benfica are good enough to beat Dortmund in the Champions League, then they should definitely be good enough to beat newly promoted Chaves. Benfica are the powerhouse of Portuguese club football, with numerous League title wins and Cup wins, however i will focus on their form from this current season. What's great about this game is they are only 1 point ahead of Porto at the top of the table, so they can't afford any slip ups or complacency against weaker opposition, also their second leg against Dortmund doesn't come until the 8th March so plenty of breathing room to now focus on league fixtures. Benfica are unbeaten at home in the league all season, with 9 wins and 2 draws, scoring 31 goals and conceding only 6, and they have already beaten tonights opponents (Chaves) away from home 2-0 earlier in the season. Chaves have proved to be difficult to beat this season despite being promoted to the top flight this, however they don't offer much goal threat away from home, so if Benfica score, which is highly likely, then Chaves will struggle to pull a goal back against the best home defence in the league. Chaves will do their best to frustrate tonight but Benfica should have too much quality and win fairly comfortably.
Our second selection (Asian handicap 0.0 Nimes) is the selection with the better value odds which makes this double more worthwhile, and it should also stand a very good chance of winning. Nimes are undefeated in 2017, which includes being reduced to only 9 men in one of their games. They didn't start the season well but are finishing strong and are genuine contenders for promotion if they can continue their good form. Their main weakness appears to be converting dominant play into wins, and discipline as they seem to get red cards in nearly every match of theirs that i've tipped, however this may just be bad luck on my part. Nevertheless, when they have 11 men playing they are very hard to beat, with no team in the league having less defeats so far this season. They have already beaten tonights opponents (Ajaccio GFCA) away from home 2-0 earlier in the season, and yes they did have a man sent off too. Ajaccio GFCA are a mid table side who have lost over 50% of their away games, and don't pose a massive goal threat, with only 10 away goals from 13 games. Therefore assuming there are no more red cards tonight, and with the draw covered in this selection, this double should stand a great chance.
