England Premier League

Venue: Villa Park
Match Preview:
When you're under pressure and your club are not winning games there are two things you don’t want to be facing in the Premier League; one is Manchester City and the other is Erling Haaland. So what will Villa manager Steven Gerrard be able to do about this?
Well let’s remember the last time they met which was on the last day of the season and Villa had run into a 2 goal lead, all of this at the Etihad where City needed to win to be champions. City as per normal came back but let’s face it Gerrard and Villa gave Pep’s team a huge fright. Now Villa are at home they will be working on a game plan for sure. Villa come into this fixture in 19th place with just one win so far but have lost their last 3 games in a row which have come against Crystal Palace, West Ham and in midweek against Arsenal. At home it’s two games played with a loss against the Hammers and their only win so far which came against Everton.
Manchester City somehow are not in 1st place (yet), this is due to a 3-3 draw up at Newcastle but many expect they will catch Arsenal soon enough who are 2 points in front. Apart from that draw Guardiola’s side have looked absolutely relentless and have scored 10 goals in their last two games. In midweek they battered Nottingham Forest 6-0 with Erling Haaland scoring his second hat trick of the season and the forward ended the month of August with 9 goals- frightening!
City have scored 19 goals so far well above any other club and they are averaging almost four goals a game and will be the big odds on favourites to make this their fifth win of the season.
Team News:
Aston Villa: Leander Dendoncker is ill and is a doubt for this game. Diego Carlos is out long term with an Achilles injury.
Manchester City: Nathan Ake has a groin injury and could be assessed but is only 50/50 to make the squad. Jack Grealish has a knock and will be assessed. Kalvin Phillips is being tipped to return from a shoulder injury but probably won’t start. Ayermic Laporte is about a month away with a knee injury.
Aston Villa vs Man City Head to Head:
Last season Manchester City won this fixture 2-1.
Manchester City scored 5 goals past Aston Villa last season in their two games.
Manchester City have won the last 9 meetings in a row and keeping with the number 9 that is how many years it has been since Villa’s last victory over them.
The last 3 games in a row has seen both teams to score.
Aston Villa vs Man City Prediction:
Aston Villa will be expected to lose this game but the players seem to be with Gerrard and we think they will put in a good display and dig deep. The problem is how fast this City team can play and that won’t be easy to deal with. In Gerrard’s two games over City the matches have been fairly close and we expect this one can be too. Even if Villa lose they will give a display which at least they can be proud of.
We expect the game to start off frustratingly slow for City’s perspective as Villa will keep it tight but we think it will open up in the second half and we have seen much better displays from City as games have gone on so this market will be one of our choices. City should have enough in the tank, though away games are never easy and for most City will be priced out. But the usual markets concerning one Mr. Haaland should be taken on. He’s a goal machine and should get quite a few opportunities in front of goal yet again.
Aston Villa vs Man City Betting Tips:
