Arsenal vs West Ham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 25th August 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Emirates Stadium

Match Preview:

Losing your first two games of the season would normally spell crisis at a club like Arsenal but new manager Unai Emery has been given a pass by fans who will realise that the Gunners have had two very difficult fixtures.

The first was against current champions Manchester City at the Emirates which Arsenal lost 2-0. The next was the short trip to Chelsea which ended in a 3-2 defeat. In fairness Arsenal were heading for a draw and had at one point come back from 2-0 down. The Gunners have shown promise and fight but make no mistake if they lose this game against West Ham everything will change for Emery. In short Arsenal need to start winning games.

This season looked very promising for West Ham. First Manuel Pellegrini was drafted in as manager and solid and exciting players arrived with the likes of Jack Wilshire and Felipe Anderson. Losing against Liverpool at Anfield even if the score was 4-0 was not a huge concern on the opening day of the season but losing at home to Bournemouth after being 1-0 up was.

Already Pellegrini is feeling the wrath of the fans and frustration is growing quick and now they will be facing one of the top sides who will be 100% motivated for the win themselves.

Arsenal vs West Ham Team News:

Arsenal vs West Ham Head to Head:

Last season Arsenal won this fixture 4-1.

In the last 9 fixtures at Emirates, West Ham have just 1 win.

In the last 5 league games between the clubs Arsenal have scored 15 goals.

Arsenal vs West Ham Prediction:

This is Arsenal’s time to shine and we will follow the momentum for the Gunners. The fact that they are at home will be a big help and Emery and the team will be determined to get the win. West Ham look mentally fragile at this stage of the season and whilst they might improve as it goes on the bulk of their points will most probably come at home. Arsenal for the win but odds are around 1.30 so we will look into different markets.
