England Premier League
Sunday 7th November 2021
Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Emirates Stadium
Match Preview:
Arsenal have recovered now from their nightmare start in the league and are one of the most in form sides. It’s been over 2 months since the Gunners lost a game so we can safely presume that they have turned a corner and any talk that Mikel Arteta was going to lose his job has disappeared.
Arsenal have climbed up to 6th place and that is a welcome sight for a club that have not managed to finish inside the top 7 for a few seasons running now. The Gunners have won their last two games and last weekend they beat Leicester in an impressive 2-0 away win. Arsenal have won 50% of their games overall and perhaps having no European football this season has been a blessing in disguise for them.
At home Arsenal have the 3rd best record in the league gaining 10 points from a possible 15 and have just the one loss so far which came against Chelsea.
Watford have played 3 games under new manager Claudio Ranieri and in one of them they conceded 5 goals and in the other they scored 5, life under Ranieri is not going to be boring. However the Hornets did lose 1-0 against Southampton in their last game which was a stark reminder that the club have an uphill battle to stay in the league this season. One has to wonder, and with respect if their recent 5-2 win over Everton was more of a fluke than anything else.
Watford are in 16th place and are only 3 points from the bottom three though not many will be expecting them to pick up points here, and they have lost 3 of their last four games.
Team News:
Arsenal: Kieran Tierney has a niggling ankle injury but is being tipped to return. Granit Xhaka is out until the new year with a knee injury.
Watford: Femenia is being tipped to return for this game, Ken Sema is out with a knee injury and Francisco Sierralta will be assessed for his fitness and could return for this one.
Arsenal vs Watford Head to Head:
The last time the clubs played here in 2020 Arsenal won 3-2.
It’s been six games and 4 years since Watford beat Arsenal.
There is a 60% chance to see both teams to score.
Arsenal vs Watford Prediction:
Watford under Ranieri if he is given the time, and that is no guarantee under their owners, will record great results and should be able to stay up. But coming away to Arsenal and getting a result at this current time feels unrealistic and we only see one winner here.
Arsenal have their attacking mojo back and they are in a good place and will want to give a good performance in front of their home fans just before we break up again for the international games.
Arsenal are short odds to win this but the way they have been playing we can presume Arteta will set up to attack from the beginning, so to increase the odds at no extra risk we will select a "-1 asian handicap".
As for goalscorers there are a plethora at hand for Arsenal and this could be a long afternoon for the Hornets, it really would be surprising if they came away with any points from the Emirates and this should be a straightforward win for Arteta’s side.
Arsenal vs Watford Betting Tips:
Asian handicap (-1 Arsenal) at 1.60
Anytime goalscorer: Bukayo Saka at 3.00
